Kent ve bellek kavramları üzerine araÅŸtırma ve üretim yapan sanatçı, deÄŸiÅŸen kent ve yaÅŸam alanlarında geçmiÅŸin izleri ile mekanın hafızası üzerine odaklanır. Üretimlerinde, geçmiÅŸin kaybolan izlerini takip ederek, naif ve güçlü bir dille zamansal ve mekansal katmanları gün yüzüne çıkaracak müdahalelerde bulunur. Bu çalışmada yereli temsil eden temsili bir güneÅŸ saati yerleÅŸtirme iÅŸi yer almaktadır. Suni ışık ile üretilmiÅŸ güneÅŸ saati yerel kavramının altını kazırken aynı zamanda iç mekanda yer alması ile zaman ve mekan algısını sorgulatmayı amaçlar. Yedikule Surları’nda yer alan Altın Kapı’nın sol burcunda yer alan ancak ÅŸu anda tamamen iÅŸlevini kaybetmiÅŸ ve oldukça hasar görmüÅŸ bir güneÅŸ saati de mekanda sanatçıya eÅŸlik eder. Zaman ve mekan kavramlarının dönüÅŸümü ile toplumsal ve kültürel dönüÅŸüm geçiren bu tarihsel bir mekan sanatçının eseri ile ‘Yerel nedir? ve ‘Bu yer hangi yereli temsil edilebilir?’ sorularını karşımıza çıkarır.

The artist, who researches and creates on the concepts of city and memory, focuses on the memory of space and the traces of the past in changing urban and living environments. In her works, she follows the lost traces of the past and intervenes to bring temporal and spatial layers to light using a naïve yet powerful language.

An installation of a symbolic sundial, which represents the local, is included in the exhibition. The sundial, illuminated by artificial light, undermines the concept of the local while also aiming to question perceptions of time and space in an indoor setting. A completely dysfunctional and highly damaged sundial located on the left tower of the Golden Gate also accompanies the artist in this venue. This historical space, which has undergone social and cultural transformation with the evolving concepts of time and space, raises questions such as ‘What is local?’ and ‘Which local can this location represent?’
